Drug-therapeutic group: 6.3.2.1.2 Contact laxatives.

Microlax has sodium citrate and sodium lauryl sulfoacetate as its active substances, to which it owes its pharmacological properties. Microlax evacuates the rectum and colon through a peptization process of fecal matter. This mechanism essentially consists of a physicochemical phenomenon in which water is released, even in the hardest stools, and consequently liquefies them.

This phenomenon at the molecular level causes a softening of the stool, providing a smooth defecation without affecting the mucosa and without causing any local or systemic reactions.

The desired effect occurs within 5 to 20 minutes.

Microlax is indicated in the following situations:

Symptomatic treatment of rectal or rectosigmoid constipation;

Encopresis;

... Constipation during pregnancy, constipation associated with childbirth and surgery (pre- and post-operative use); Preparation of the rectum and sigmoid colon for endoscopic examinations. Microlax is indicated, when necessary, in any of these groups. Sale reserved for individuals over 16 years of age. Non-prescription medicine. Read the information leaflet carefully and if in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist. See here the municipalities eligible for delivery and their respective points of sale for non-prescription medicines.
